Environmentally Friendly Pest Control
The Green Shield Program
Many factors should be considered before choosing a pest control company, including their attitude about protecting the environment. At Z-Best we call it “Sustainable Pest Management,” or working with nature, not against it. We call this new, environmentally-friendly pest control product our "Green Shield Program."
Our goal in instituting the Green Shield Program is to introduce a program for your home or business that insures a pest-free environment, while remaining in harmony with the natural environment and avoiding the use of toxic products.
How is Green-Shield Different?
Z-Best Pest Control's Green Shield Protection Plan focuses on non-chemical control as the primary pest control strategy. We begin by inspecting your home or building and denying access to insects and rodents through professional pest exclusion. We also keep our clients involved by consulting with them regarding the importance of maintaining proper sanitation and avoiding conditions that are conducive to insect and rodent infestations.
This approach represents a major shift from the pest control methods that have been the mainstay of exterminators for generations. Traditional pest control companies rely primarily on chemicals instead of implementing an integrated Pest Management (IPM ) approach, which emphasizes non-chemical methods such as sanitation, exclusion, monitoring, and trapping.
The Green Shield program takes a new, more environmentally friendly approach that emphasizes non-toxic, earth-friendly pest control practices such as:
- Exclusion of pests from your home or business through structural modification (sealing holes, installing door sweeps, utilizing air curtains in commercial buildings, etc.).
- Source reduction through habitat modification, proper sanitation practices, and elimination of conditions conducive to pest infestation.
- Ongoing monitoring of pest populations with sticky traps and pheromone lures.
- The use of non-toxic methods such as trapping as a first choice when pest problems are detected.
- When necessary, the use of environmentally friendly, organic pest control products.
Effective, Environmentally Friendly Pest Control
Despite all efforts at exclusion, source reduction, sanitation, and habitat modification, pests do still get in sometimes. So what happens then?
When non-chemical methods alone aren't enough and product application is necessary to treat pest or rodent activity, Z-Best Pest Control uses ECO Exempt products to control these infestations. These products are made of organic ingredients and naturally-occurring compounds. The EPA considers these products to pose such a minimal risk that they're not even required to be federally registered as pesticides. Nonetheless, they are effective when used as part of a coordinated Integrated Pest Management program.
Z-Best Green Shield Program is our most efficient, low-risk method for long-term pest control that is in harmony with nature. Call us today for a free evaluation of your home and let us design a low-impact program that will meet your pest control needs.
